Since he founded MB2 Dental, it has grown to include 533 employees and has 70 affiliated locations all over the states. MB2 Dental is dentist-owned and is a firm that is solely focused on support, autonomy, personal growth and just having fun in the workplace. When Dr. Villanueva graduated from dental school he quickly realized that there were only two options for dentists, a private practice or a large group practice, he decided that it was time for a change. He created MB2 dental so that doctors had a better option and so that patients could get the best of care. Dr. Villanueva is passionate about what he does and is excited about how technology plays such an important role in the dentistry industry. He does not take himself too seriously and he tries to stay humorous. MB2 is the future of dentistry and is unique because it is a practice run and owned by dentists. The company prides itself on being in-tune to the trends and standards of the practice and it is very progressive. It is also an environment where dentists can collaborate with each other and it is comprised of a team to help dentists with any challenges that they may need to overcome such as with HR, payroll, legal matters, or marketing issues. Dr. Villanueva once worked for a dentist whose wife ran the company and it wasn’t an ideal job setting at all. That is mostly because a non-clinician was calling the shots and it just wasn’t in the best interest of the patients. He has learned the value of staying focused on what your natural talent is and to try to stay in the right path without being sidetracked by distractions. He also advises taking time for self-reflection. He believes in the importance of hiring the right people for the job. If you do that you don’t need to micromanage and your life will be less stressful.
