Since 2011 Maggie Gill has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Health. Memorial Health is a 604-bed academic medical center located in Savannah, Georgia that serves thirty-five counties in southeast Georgia and southern South Carolina. Maggie is also a member of the Memorial Health Board of Directors.
Before joining Memorial Health Maggie Gill worked at Tenet South Florida Health as their chief financial officer (CFO) for five years. She was named Tenet’s outstanding CFO three out of the five years she worked there. While serving at Tenet Maggie worked at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, the Coral Gables Hospital in Coral Gables, and the North Shore Medical Center in Miami Florida. Maggie Gill’s career at Memorial Health began in 2004 when she was named vice president of finance/managed care. Maggie’s outstanding work was soon recognized, and in 2005 after only one year with the hospital, Maggie Gill was named chief operating officer (COO) of Memorial Health.
Maggie Gill’s duties at Memorial Health are many; they include providing leadership for all vice presidents and primary physicians, facilities management, orthopedic and neuroscience programs, trauma services, and corporate communications. Maggie is also responsible for negotiations between doctors and the hospital as well as any matter concerning the government.
Under the leadership of Gill Memorial Health has received many awards and accolades and are recognized for exceptional patient care, receiving awards of excellence in bariatric surgery, breast care, cancer care, endoscopy, heart and vascular care, joint replacement surgery, and women’s health. These acknowledgments came from noted medical associations such as the Georgia Hospital Association, the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation, Aetna Institute of Quality, the American College of Radiology and Blue Cross Blue Shield, to mention only a few.
In 2016 Maggie Gill was named by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the “135 nonprofit hospital and health system CEOs to know.” Selected for their editorial judgment and discretion the list is composed of the leaders of some of the most productive and prominent nonprofit health care organizations in the United States.
Maggie Gill is a graduate of Florida State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree with honors. She received her MBA from Saint Leo University in Tampa, Florida, again with honors. Maggie Gill also completed several courses in strategic thinking and management at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Maggie Gill’s career continues at Memorial Health where she still serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer.
