The acquisition of Alton’s heating and Air

In the recent past, Goettl Air Conditioning announced that they had finalized the purchase of Walton’s Heating and Air, a family owned HVAC firm based out of southern California.

The deal gives Goettl a chance to solidify their presence in California and for the Walton’s to expand beyond what Todd Longbrake the owner could afford on his own. According to Todd, they had done what they could with the family business, but it had remained stagnant. At first, Longbrake was reluctant to sell the business to Goettl when they showed interest in 2015, but after hearing about them from other individuals in the HVAC industry, he decided to give it a shot.

Goettl finalized the acquisition in 2015, and Longbrake notes that they have grown since they joined forces. Goettl retained Longbrake as a field supervisor and sales manager. According to Goodrich the owner of Goettl, Todd gelled into the firm’s culture almost immediately and might become the leader of the entire organization. The announcement, however, took two years. According to Goodrich, it was due to operational problems and marketing complications within Walton’s. They wanted to streamline those things before making the announcement.

Now, Goettl has 306 workers, and after the acquisition, they hope to add 200 jobs especially in Phoenix and Tucson, the firm’s largest markets.

In conclusion, Goettl primary goal is to become a national brand according to Goodrich. The company plans to expand into northern California followed by Texas next year.
