Winnebago is expanding their current facility in Elkhart County, the Winnebago Towable Campus bringing with it as many as 125 new jobs to the area by 2019 as reported by the Elkhart Truth.” The newly remodeled campus squaring up on 30-acres of land and costing an estimated $12 million dollars is a big plus to the economy and the folks living in Elkhart County. Winnebago is an industry leader in the manufacturing and sales of RV’s mainly used for leisure travel and outdoor activities. The company manufactures motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheel products, and toy haulers under the Winnebago banner. Commanding approximately 40% of the market in motorhomes and RV’s the new facility demonstrates the company’s confidence in growth and expanding market capitalization in the everchanging economy. President and CEO of the company, Michael Happe stated, “…the growth of the industry in the future and this will be a fantastic opportunity for this business to expand its product line over time and continue to meet rising demand and ultimately have more market share in the industry.”
With locations in four states currently, the Winnebago Towable Campus can create more exposure and ultimately more ownership in products for Winnebago as they expand along with creating more jobs in the area during the construction, and use of the new section of the campus. Widespread support from the local community, state and local politicians the campus is a welcome addition in the county.
