Nearly a year ago, funnyman Tracy Morgan sustained major injuries after a deadly car crash on the New Jersey Turnpike. The limo that the comedic actor was traveling in was hit by a Walmart semi-truck after the driver dozed off at the wheel and caused the crash. Tracy suffered from multiple broken bones, including his femur, ribs, leg, and nose. Tracy’s good friend and fellow comedian, 63-year-old James “Jimmy Mack” McNair, died in the crash.
Now, Steamboat Today says for the first time since the tragic accident, Tracy has given an interview about the incident. He spoke with Matt Lauer on the “Today” set to discuss the accident and his slow recovery. Tracy told Matt that not only did he suffer from a broken leg, but he also had a traumatic brain injury and spent two weeks in a coma. He said that he has no memory of what happened in the accident. Tracy credits his fiance and his children in helping him throughout the recovery process. He even mention that co-star Tina Fey had called several times to check on him.
Tracy told Matt that he found out when he woke from his coma that Jimmy Mack had passed away. He said that he watched his funeral on YouTube since he could not pay his respects in person.
