Born in The Bronx, New York City, he had initially set hit career towards being a Civil Engineer like his grandfather. In 1979, Lawrence Bender graduated from The University of Maine with a degree in Civil Engineering. Following his undergrad he was a professional dancer that ended in injury.

Good Will Hunting is my favorite of his movies because it is a timeless tale coupled with great acting and actors. It appeals to a mature audience and sheds light on the hardships of different socioeconomic classes as well as the power of influence role models have in a youth’s life.
