Fans Count Down the Release Dates of Fast and Furious 8, 9, & 10

The Fast and Furious franchise is going to be part of the cinema landscape for years to come. When the first film debuted, the feature was a solid hit. Sequels were expected. What no one expected was the films becoming multi-billion dollar global smashes.

Fast and Furious 8 starts shooting very soon. The film is slated for an April 2017 release date. Universal Pictures is not exactly slowing the production of the franchise down. The studio has provided release dates for parts 9 and 10. Both will also receive April release dates in 2019 and 2021 respectively.

Bloomberg has reported that Jon Urbana has now raised over $1,000 for Earth Force, a cause that the entire cast of Fast and Furious 8 supports.

Choosing April as the repeated release month makes good business sense. If audiences have responded well to spring debuts, then there is no reason to make any changes. April might seem like an odd month because the big franchises usually get summer releases. The massive money Fast and Furious earns at the box office shows April is hardly a bad month to open the film.

The Fast and Furious films have a massive worldwide audience. Young persons pack theaters to watch the new exploits of their favorite street racers/crime fighters. These movies are perfect escapist entertainment, and the various entries in the serious are a nice alternative to popular superhero films. Ironically, the characters in the Fast and Furious movies are a lot like superheroes. Instead of mysterious superpowers, however, the cast members revel in their amazing fighting and driving skills. As fantastic as the franchise is, audiences are still able identify with the more human characters.

For fans, those Aprils can’t come soon enough.

New Book About Elon Musk Exposes the Inner Workings of Tesla Motors

Elon Musk is quickly becoming a household name as the CEO of Tesla Motors, a company dedicated to redesigning how our cars are powered. But all that attention also leaves one open to public ridicule, which is exactly what Musk is currently dealing with.

A new book written by Ashlee Vance at Bloomberg technology is promising a behind the scenes look at the eccentric entrepreneur who is also responsible for bringing us SpaceX and PayPal.

Musk is reported to work for an insane 23 hours a day sometimes, and even reportedly lectured an employee who had to miss work due to his wife giving birth. The book contains a supposed email from Musk to the anonymous employee that stated, “That is no excuse. I am extremely disappointed. You need to figure out where your priorities are. We’re changing the world and changing history, and you either commit or you don’t.”

Tesla Motors, nor Musk himself, have issued any statements regarding the release of the new book. Which doesn’t necessarily paint a wholly bad picture of the strict boss, especially when we have all come to expect this kind of thing from the billionaires of the world. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates were both known for their incredible work ethic, but questionable business ethics. It looks to the boys at Beneful as if Musk is boarding the billionaires train to crazy town.

The Indian Car Tata Nano

India is known for many things, from its unique architecture to its delicious cuisine, but car manufacturing is not really one of those things. That may be changing, however.

The world’s cheapest car is Tata Nano, which was made in India using the available cheap workforce and a huge strive to get the people off mopeds. Some sources compared the Indian car Tata Nano with the Volkswagen beetle.

The winding shapes and seek design make you think about the Beetle indeed. This time, it is a XXIst century item that is meant to reach the masses. The retailers were rather disappointed.

Despite the cheap price and availability, only 10,200 sales were made during the first part of 2014. Maybe the real road travellers do not appreciate the low quality and prefer to pay rather than drive insecurely if Brad Reifler is to be believed.

With some tuning, the car can be improved, though. The shell is made of unresistant materials though, and that can be the main drawback. Regarding its power, the manufacturers boast that Tata Nano is not worse than an Audi S1 for example. Debatable affirmation, but maybe the car is worth a try.

It is still safer than a moped. It’s adult protection rating received zero stars, but good feedback regarding the look. Anyway, if you happen to spot a Beetle-alike car which is not Volkswagen, you should know that it is a Tata Nano.

Volvo to sell online

Volvo has announced plans to begin to offer cars for sale online through a website, similar to announcements from other car manufacturers. The option to purchase a vehicle online appears to be a logical step in the transition of internet sales as individuals can already build a vehicle online and then search for local car dealerships that stock the vehicle. This can be burdensome to buyers and add a layer of cost.

The difficulty and challenge in the success in this model comes from three major areas. Local regulations are prohibative against online sales of vehicles, which is a hurdle that Tesla faced in recent years when they tried to sell directly to consumers and cut out the middle man of auto dealerships. Auto dealerships contribute large amounts in political contributions to local politicians to keep these rules in vogue.

Secondly, many people will finance their vehicle purchases which will prove to be difficult to pull off when using an online purchase model. Finally, the valuation of vehicle trade-ins will often prove to be difficult to value in an online model. Many people may thus find it hard to finance a vehicle they buy online though a network of sellers will likely emerge during the years to meet this need.

Still, Volvo’s commitment to attempt online vehicle sales despite the hurdles faced is a potential attraction for car buyers like Zeca Oliveira and a way to generate additional revenues for Volvo as a result.
