Indiana SAAC

Car Show Policies

General:

National SAAC and most Regional SAAC clubs include a Non-Judged Car Show as well as a Concours (judged) Car Show.

Non-Judged Car Shows:

Most Regional clubs include a Popular Vote car show, normally included in the cost of admission, where participants themselves select the winners. Since 2006 National SAAC includes two non-judged car shows: A Hi-Performance Motors Show for Cobras, Shelbys and Boss Mustangs presented as they might have appeared on a Shelby dealer's lot when they were new; all other non-Concours cars are in the Shine 'N Show event. Teams of experts select cars deserving of special recognition awards in about dozen classes in each of these shows.

Concours Car Shows:

Pre-registration is required for entry into the Concours Show and often an additional fee is charged. Classes, following the National Guidelines, are included for performance cars from Shelby American (and Ford), namely Cobras, Shelbys, Competition Cars (GT40s and original race version Cobras), Tigers (engineered by Carroll Shelby), and Bosses (the Ford derivative of the Trans-Am Mustang race cars developed by Shelby American).

SAAC National does not include non-Shelby Mustangs or other Ford-powered cars in its concours event due to the Shelby orientation of the Club and to the uncertainty of assuring a sufficient quantity of qualified judges for the non-Shelby Fords. Regional events are encouraged to include these other Ford vehicles should qualified judges be available.
