2012 Indiana SAAC Merit Scholarship

It has been the wishes of our volunteer committee for some time now to find an opportunity to give back to our young people and with that we have chosen to announce the beginning of the Indiana SAAC Merit Scholarship Program.

  • An annual $500 scholarship to any new-incoming freshman accepted at an accredited university/college or technical school.

  • To the child or grandchild of a current club member, or a club member.

  • With a minimum high school GPA equivalent to a “B.”

  • To study in an automotive-related field.

  • Applications accepted December 1, 2011 through March 1, 2012.

Our first annual scholarship winner will be recognized at the 35th Anniversary Shelby Spring Fling Banquet.  We are excited to offer this opportunity to our members and their families with the hope that we all can help to make a positive difference in a talented, young person's life.

APPLICANTS MUST:

1.   High School Graduate (or GED) by June 2012.

2.   Have GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above.

3.   Continue education in an automotive-related field

4.   Complete application form and essay.

5.   Document extra-curricular and/or community activities.

6.   Confirm admission to university,  college, or school prior to May 1.

7.   Furnish official copies of high school transcript and ACT or

        SAT results

8.   Furnish 3 letters of recommendation (at least one from a school Representative on academics and extra-curricular activities;

also suggest  clergy,  community and/or civic representative on public service).

 ALL REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET, OR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED

 DEADLINE  -  APPLICATIONS MUST BE POST MARKED BY:   March 1, 2012
